We’ll start with a presentation overview and introductions by Tobacco-less Club president Marlene Hurd and Alameda County Tobacco Control Ms. Tamiko Johnson. Then move to icebreaker, PowerPoint; “Access to Smoke-Free Housing: A Social Justice Issue,” along with a discussion on second and third-hand smoke by Pauline (CHEI). Then we’ll finish up with presentation elements and collecting survey data, as well as a list of tabling events in Oakland.

The training is a project of the Community Health Education Institute (CHEI), which is funded by Alameda County Health Care Services Agency, Public Health Dept. Tobacco Master Settlement Funds and California Tobacco Control Program.

Judge Stephen Williams, writing on behalf of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, said that the plaintiffs lack standing because they must show an injury that is “actual or imminent, not conjectural or hypothetical” and that all three of their cited injuries did not meet that test.

TUESDAY, Dec. 8, 2015 (HealthDay News) — Many electronic cigarettes contain flavoring chemicals that may cause lung disease, researchers say. One such flavoring chemical, acetoin, was detected in 46 of the flavors while another, called 2,3-pentanedione, was found in 23 of the flavors, the findings showed. There are currently more than 7,000 varieties of flavored e-cigarettes and liquid, the researchers said, but there’s a lack of information on their potential health effects.
